Interleave pages from two PDF documents in alternating order, with optional reverse ordering for single-sided duplex scans. Reassemble two-sided documents scanned on a single-sided feeder without manually dragging dozens of pages into order.
Page-copying creates a fresh PDF container, so document-level bookmarks are not preserved. Both source PDFs must be unlocked before mixing.
How PDFolio helps you alternate mix PDF
PDFolio loads both PDFs in a local Web Worker and copies pages in alternating batches (1 from file A, 1 from file B, and so on). If Reverse second PDF is enabled, file B is read from its last page to its first page.
If you want to place one entire PDF after another rather than alternating pages, use Merge PDF. If you need custom page-by-page ordering within a single file, use Organize PDF.
Before you download
If one document has more pages than the other, the remaining pages are appended in order at the end of the combined file.
When the result is ready, download it immediately and open it in your usual PDF viewer to make a final check. You can then use Clear task data to release temporary file references from this browser tab. PDFolio does not create an account, cloud folder, or server-side document history.
A private way to alternate mix PDF
PDFolio handles the selected files in the active browser tab. A Web Worker on your device performs the PDF task so the interface can remain responsive; document bytes are not sent to a PDF processing server, upload queue, account database, or advertising platform.

- Add your first PDF (odd/front pages) and second PDF (even/back pages).
- Choose how many pages to take per step and enable Reverse second PDF if the back stack was scanned last-to-first.
- Process locally and download the interleaved PDF.
Bon à savoir : Enable Reverse second PDF when your sheet-fed scanner scanned the back sides of the stack in reverse order.
Foire aux questions
How do I combine odd and even scanned PDFs?
Upload the odd-pages PDF first and the even-pages PDF second. If the even stack was scanned upside-down in reverse order, check Reverse second PDF.
What if the two PDFs have different page counts?
PDFolio alternates pages until the shorter PDF ends, then appends the remaining pages from the longer PDF.
Does alternate mix PDF change my original file?
No. PDFolio creates a new file for download. Your source file remains unchanged on your device.
