About compare two PDFs

Compare two PDF files page-by-page and generate a visual diff report highlighting every pixel and text change in red. Verify that a counterparty did not slip unapproved edits into a contract before signing, or check design proof revisions across pages.

If a paragraph insertion pushes all subsequent text down the page, everything below the insertion will highlight as visually shifted on that page.

A private way to compare two PDFs

PDFolio handles the selected files in the active browser tab. A Web Worker on your device performs the PDF task so the interface can remain responsive; document bytes are not sent to a PDF processing server, upload queue, account database, or advertising platform.

Good to know: Every page in the downloaded report displays three panels: File A (Original), File B (Revised), and the Visual Diff with changes highlighted in red.

Frequently asked questions

Does Compare PDFs catch changes inside images and signatures as well as text?

Yes. Because it performs a pixel-by-pixel visual comparison alongside text comparison, any altered signature, logo, or number is highlighted.

Are confidential contracts uploaded when comparing?

Never. Both PDFs stay inside your local browser tab.

Does compare two PDFs change my original file?

No. PDFolio creates a new file for download. Your source file remains unchanged on your device.
