About PDF to EPUB

Create a reflowable EPUB ebook from the selectable text in a PDF. Use this tool when a report, manuscript, or text-heavy reference PDF would be more comfortable to read in an EPUB-compatible library or reader app.

The EPUB is built from the same text layer as the HTML export, so image-only PDFs must be run through OCR PDF first. The output is a valid EPUB 3 with one XHTML document per PDF page and a generated table of contents, which means the structure is page-shaped rather than chapter-shaped: an e-reader will show your document's pages as its sections. Title and author can be set. There is no cover image, no embedded fonts, and no images from the source.

How PDFolio helps you PDF to EPUB

PDFolio extracts the existing text layer of every selected page and packages it into a standard EPUB file. Each source page becomes a small chapter in the reflowable book, so the reader can adjust font size and reading width. The browser creates the EPUB archive locally and the PDF source remains unchanged.

Before you download

EPUB is designed for flowing text, not fixed PDF page design. Complex tables, footnotes, multiple columns, mathematical notation, scans, and images may not carry over cleanly. Choose PDF to images when exact pages matter. For scanned PDFs, run OCR PDF first.

When the result is ready, download it immediately and open it in your usual PDF viewer to make a final check. You can then use Clear task data to release temporary file references from this browser tab. PDFolio does not create an account, cloud folder, or server-side document history.

A private way to PDF to EPUB

PDFolio handles the selected files in the active browser tab. A Web Worker on your device performs the PDF task so the interface can remain responsive; document bytes are not sent to a PDF processing server, upload queue, account database, or advertising platform.
