About signature mark on PDF

Add a visible signature mark, initials, or form field text to selected PDF pages. Mark a document as reviewed or completed, add a visual signature, or fill a named field for a form you need to complete without sending the PDF elsewhere.

There are two modes and they behave quite differently. Naming an existing form field writes your text into that AcroForm field and then flattens the entire form, which makes every field in the document permanently non-editable, not just the one you filled. Free placement instead draws a mark onto the page: typed signatures use Helvetica Oblique and are limited to Latin characters, while drawn or uploaded ones accept PNG and JPEG, sized small, medium, or large at 110, 150, and 190 points wide and capped at 64 points tall. Either way this is a visual mark, not a cryptographic digital signature, and carries no certificate.
