About split PDF pages

Create one or more new PDFs from pages or ranges in a source document. Split a monthly packet into statements, pull each invoice from a scan, or divide a report into chapters for separate recipients.

Ranges are read in document order and clamped to the real page count, so asking for 7-10 in a nine-page file gives you 7 to 9 rather than an error. Each result is a separate download, which matters more than it sounds: splitting a 200-page document one page at a time produces 200 files, and most browsers will either throttle that or ask you to confirm bulk downloading. Like every page-copying operation here, split rebuilds the document from its pages, so bookmarks and form fields do not carry across into the pieces.

If the goal is to remove a few pages rather than to divide the document, Delete Pages is more direct and leaves the rest of the file in one piece.

Review the page count and result names before closing the tab, especially when a long PDF produces many downloads. Use Extract pages instead when you only need one new PDF containing a specific selection.

A private way to split PDF pages
