About crop PDF pages

Trim an equal margin from selected PDF pages. Tighten excess border space around a scan or make the same margin adjustment throughout a selected set of pages.

Cropping sets the page's CropBox, which changes what a viewer displays. It does not delete anything. The content outside the new boundary is still present in the file, and anyone can bring it back by resetting the crop box, while text in the hidden region remains extractable by a text extractor. Treat cropping as framing rather than removal. A single uniform margin is trimmed from all four sides, and the margin must be less than half the page's smaller dimension or the operation is refused.

How PDFolio helps you crop PDF pages

Enter a margin in PDF points, then select the pages that need a tighter visible page area. One PDF point is 1/72 of an inch, so begin with a modest number if content sits close to an edge.

If material genuinely has to be gone rather than merely out of frame, cropping is the wrong tool: remove the page with Delete Pages, or rasterise through PDF to Images and rebuild, then confirm the text is actually absent. If the aim is to change the sheet size rather than to trim content, Resize PDF scales pages onto a standard paper size and keeps everything visible.

Before you download

Cropping changes the visible crop box in the exported file. It is not a redaction feature and does not permanently erase content outside the visible area. A value that would leave no usable page area is rejected.

When the result is ready, download it immediately and open it in your usual PDF viewer to make a final check. You can then use Clear task data to release temporary file references from this browser tab. PDFolio does not create an account, cloud folder, or server-side document history.

A private way to crop PDF pages
