About resize PDF pages

Change paper size or add white space around selected PDF pages. Prepare a document for a print requirement, standardise mixed page sizes, make room for a binder, or add breathing room around a scan without sending the file anywhere.

Two modes do quite different things. Page size scales each page's content proportionally onto the target sheet and centres it, so the aspect ratio is preserved and a Letter page placed on A4 gains uneven bands rather than stretching. Margins mode does not scale at all: it enlarges the sheet and shifts the content, which is the right choice when you need binding space or room to annotate. Standard sizes cover A0 to A5, Letter, Legal, Ledger, Tabloid, and Executive, with custom dimensions accepted up to 14,400 points, or 200 inches, the maximum a PDF page can be.

How PDFolio helps you resize PDF pages

Choose Page size for A-series, US, or custom paper dimensions. PDFolio scales selected pages proportionally to fit and centres the result. Choose Add margins when the page size should grow around the existing content instead; set top, bottom, left, and right independently in millimetres, inches, or centimetres.

Resize keeps every pixel of the page and changes the sheet around it. Crop PDF is the opposite trade: it keeps the sheet and hides the edges. If the goal is a smaller file rather than a smaller page, neither tool is the answer and Compress PDF is, since changing page dimensions has almost no effect on file size.

Before you download

A4 is common in much of the world, while US Letter is common in North America. Match the destination requirement rather than guessing. Page-size conversion can add white space when source and target proportions differ. Margins enlarge the exported page and retain the source content at its original scale.

When the result is ready, download it immediately and open it in your usual PDF viewer to make a final check. You can then use Clear task data to release temporary file references from this browser tab. PDFolio does not create an account, cloud folder, or server-side document history.

A private way to resize PDF pages
