About add text watermark to PDF

Place a permanent text watermark on selected PDF pages. Label a copy CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, INTERNAL, or with a recipient name when its status needs to be visible on the page.

Watermark text is drawn with Helvetica from the standard PDF font set, which covers Latin characters only: Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, and CJK text will not render and should not be used here. The size scales with page width and is capped at 52 points, and opacity can be set between 10 and 90 percent, defaulting to a light 24 percent. A centred watermark is rotated 35 degrees; the corner positions sit horizontally with a 28-point margin. The mark is drawn on top of existing content, so it can be removed by anyone willing to edit the file.

A watermark is a label, not a control. If the point is to stop a document being opened or copied, Protect PDF applies real encryption and permissions.
